The City of Compton is initiating the scoping process for the preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the proposed Compton 2040 General Plan Update and Zoning Code Amendments.

The City of Compton will conduct a scoping meeting in accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15082(c) to gather input from adjacent cities, responsible agencies, trustee agencies, and interested parties regarding the scope and content of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the proposed Compton 2040 General Plan Update and Zoning Code Amendments.
This meeting aims to provide a platform for the community and relevant stakeholders to voice their concerns and perspectives on potential environmental issues related to the proposed Compton 2040 General Plan Update and Zoning Code Amendments. The meeting will feature a presentation on the project, the EIR process, and the topics slated for analysis in the DEIR. Attendees, including agencies, organizations, and the public, will be encouraged to share their insights on environmental matters to be addressed in the DEIR.

As the Lead Agency, the City is soliciting input from relevant agencies and interested individuals regarding the scope and content of the DEIR's environmental information. The City invites agencies to provide their views on environmental topics and issues pertinent to their statutory responsibilities related to the project.
The Notice of Preparation (NOP) review period is from May 3, 2024, to June 3, 2024. Comments should be directed to:
